What is a Group Medical Visit?

A Group Medical Visit (GMV) is a shared medical appointment where several patients meet together led by one of our practitioners to learn about a specific health topic. These visits usually last about 60 minutes and focus on practical ways to improve health through lifestyle and preventive care.

  • Led by an NFIM practitioner
  • Usually about 60 minutes
  • Educational discussion
  • Time for questions
  • Practical lifestyle strategies

Many GMVs focus on lifestyle and health topics commonly addressed in integrative and functional medicine, including nutrition, sleep, metabolic health, stress management, weight management, and blood pressure control. Patients learn how daily habits affect their health and what steps they can take to improve long-term wellness.

During the visit, one of our practitioners will explain the topic, answer questions, and share tools patients can use at home. Many patients find the group format helpful because they can learn from others who are working on similar health goals.

Group Medical Visits are designed to help patients better understand their health, build healthy habits, and gain practical skills that support long-term disease prevention and chronic disease management.

A Group Medical Visit is a relaxed, educational session led by a practitioner, often by our very own Dr. Angeli Akey. Patients attend together to learn about a specific health topic and talk about practical ways to support their health.

Patients can listen, ask questions, and learn from others who may be working on similar health goals. Some people choose to share their experiences, while others prefer to listen and take notes.

Group Medical Visits focus on helping patients better understand their health and build habits that support long-term wellness. Patients often leave with a clearer understanding of the topic and ideas they can apply in everyday life.

How to Attend a Group Medical Visit

GMVs may be offered in person at the clinic or through a secure virtual session, depending on the topic and patient eligibility.

In-Person Visits

Most GMVs take place at the North Florida Integrative Medicine office. Patients attend together in a small group setting and learn about a specific health topic led by a practitioner.

These sessions include education, discussion, and time for questions.

Telehealth / Virtual

Some GMVs may be available as a secure virtual visit for eligible patients. Telehealth availability depends on the topic and insurance eligibility requirements.

If a session is offered as a virtual visit, patients will receive instructions for joining the secure online session after registration.

Established Patients

GMVs are available to established patients of North Florida Integrative Medicine. These sessions are designed for patients who want to learn more about specific health topics and better understand how lifestyle habits affect their health.

Patients may attend a session related to their health goals or areas they would like to learn more about.

New Patients

GMVs are generally intended for established patients of the practice. If you are interested in attending but are not yet a patient, please contact the office by phone 352-332-6680 or email nfimgmv@gmail.com to learn how to become a new patient at North Florida Integrative Medicine.
